Texas New Music Festival: Shen-Blagulyak Duo
Houston-based pianists Yan Shen and Olena Blagulyak join forces in an exciting program of world premieres commissioned for TNME 2025, featuring works by Todd Frazier, David Lee Zamora, Eric Estrada, and Michael Ippolito. These bold new compositions are presented alongside masterworks by Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc, and Claude Debussy—composers who, though writing in earlier eras, pushed musical boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in classical tradition. This vibrant program for piano four hands celebrates the enduring dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation.
Adamant School of Music Summer Program
Founded by Menahem Pressler who gave masterclasses at Adamant for 30 years, this program gives participants the chance experience some of the finest teaching available anywhere in the world. These professors have guided students to win prizes at legendary competitions like the Cliburn, Leeds, Tchaikovsky, and Chopin competitions. And yet their warmth and openness makes the lessons accessible and instructive for dedicated pianists of all ages and career aspirations.
